She started doing art as a hobby and to decided to develop her skills by taking courses and learning videos online. After graduating high school in 2019, she decided to attend OCAD University to expand and develop her artistic experiences. She is currently majoring in Illustration, set to graduate in 2025.

Aside from University, Ranissa tends to her online shop & website, Rainstorms Arthouse. Being a freelance artist, she does commission from time to time. She also runs a small collective, Collectively Here, where she focuses on uplifting and raising awareness about third culture/people of color creatives.
